Installation Instructions

These are the steps that should be followed to install a new version of the the YFYJupiter Sales App onto a Samsung Galaxy Tab S2.

Step 1 - Uninstall Old Version (if one exists)

Uninstall the old version.

  1. From the main home screen, tap Apps then Settings.
  2. Tap Applications then scroll to the bottom and tap YFYJupiterApp.
  3. Tap UNINSTALL.
  4. Tap Ok to the prompt asking "Do you want to uninstall this app?"

 

Step 2a - Do the Movies Exist?

Prior to installing the new version, you should check to see if the movies are copied to the correct location on the device.

  1. From the main home screen, tap Apps then My Files.
  2. Tap Device Storage > Movies > YFYJupiter
  3. Verify that you see dell1.mp4 and dell2.mp4. 
    • If you do, then proceed to Step 3.
    • If you do not, then proceed to Step 2b.

 

Step 2b - Add the Movies

If the movies do not exist on the device, they must be copied to the correct folder.

  1. Connect the device to your computer.
  2. Select your device from Finder, the navigate to Movies > YFYJupiter
  3. Drag dell1.mp4 and dell2.mp4 into the YFYJupiter folder.

 

Step 3 - Install the New Version
  1. Unzip the android-debug.apk from the android-debug.zip file you downloaded.
  2. Connect the device to your computer.
  3. Select your device from Finder, then navigate to Downloads.
  4. Drag the android-debug.apk file into the Downloads folder.
  5. From the main home screen, tap Apps then My Files.
  6. Tap Device Storage > Downloads
  7. Tap android-debug.apk then INSTALL.
  8. Tap DONE.

 

Step 4 - Run the App

This step assumes you want to view the app in the native 4:3 mode on the device.  If you want to project the app to an HDTV or projector, please see below.

  1. From the main home screen, tap Apps then YFYJupiterApp.
  2. Once loaded, tap Videos, then tap ALLOW to the question, "Allow YFYJupiterApp to access photos, media and files on your device."
    • You will only have to do this one time.

 

Projecting to an HDTV or Projector

These are the instructions to display the app on an HDTV or Projector in 1080 HDMI (16:9) format.

 

Step 1 - Set Device to HDMI Mode
  1. From the main home screen, tap Apps then SecondScreen.
  2. Tap HDTV then LOAD HDTV
  3. Tap OK to the Instructions.
  4. Restart the device.

 

Step 2 - Connect the ScreenBeam to the TV or Projector
  1. Plugin the ScreenBeam to an HDMI input on the HDTV or Projector.
  2. Select the proper output source on the HDTV or Projector.

 

Step 3 - Connect to the ScreenBeam from the Samsung Tab
  1. Swipe down from the top of the screen to display the menu.  Swipe left until you see Smart View.
  2. Tap Smart View.

You should see that the device connects automatically.  If not, select the device from the menu you see.

You will know the connection is successful when you see the tablet's display on the HDTV or projector.

 

 

Troubleshooting Guide

Issue: The videos will not play.

Solution: Set the app permissions to allow the YFYJupiter app to access files on the device.

  1. From the main home screen, tap Apps then Settings.
  2. Tap Applications then scroll to the bottom and tap YFYJupiterApp.
  3. Tap the Permissions section.
  4. Tap OFF so that it turn ON.

  

Issue: You can't connect to the ScreenBeam from the Samsung Tab

Solution: Restart the device then follow the Step 3 again.
