Customizing unboxing experiences.

The packaging design allows for a fully customized, brand specific unboxing experience. The separation between the core structure and the corrugated outer box allows for adaptable approach that enhances customer engagement and strengthen brand recognition. Whether the brand prefers a dramatic top-life reveal or a sleek side-slide opening or luxurious lid removal, the patented bicycle design ensure that standardization does not mean dullness.

 

Manual Lock-in Mechanisms – Designed for bicycle tires and frames, this innovative feature ensures exceptional protection during transit without relying on glue, tape, or staples. It exemplifies a seamless blend of sustainability and reliable performance, safeguarding the product while reducing environmental impact.

 

Corrugated Handle Protector – Recognizing that damaged packaging can lead to a perception of product damage, we’ve incorporated durable, sustainable corrugated handle protectors. These add an extra layer of defense, minimizing wear and tear during transit and enhancing the unboxing experience.

 

Customizable Accessories Placement – With customer preferences varying widely, even for bicycles of the same size and frame, our design allows for manual pack-out of accessories. This flexibility ensures brands can meet diverse customer demands without compromising efficiency or quality.

The Winning Presentation.

The bicycle industry is renowned for its diversity. From road and mountain bicycles to motorized and electric bicycles; brands are tasked with managing a wide range of products. Traditionally, bicycle packaging was designed for transit to retail stores. Recent market trends including direct-to-consumer and sustainability have redefined the requirements for bicycle packaging.

Our design solution started with an extensive evaluation of material providers and manufacturers across key bicycle manufacturing regions, including China, Mexico, Taiwan and Vietnam. We have curated a selection of source – certified materials including certified virgin corrugated boxes to 70-100% recycled corrugated options to pure PET or HDPE plastics. Brands can personalize the packaging materials based on their sustainability goals.

A Great Fit for Every Stapler.

YFYJupiter helped a global office supplies retailer to reduce costs substantially. By completely redesigning its secondary packaging and integrating ‘shelf ready packaging’ for inbound receipt with their product manufacturers, the brand owner could make savings on corrugated material reduction, eliminating master carton prep associated with distribution center labor, and in addition make a significant contribution to the environmental impact.

To help “eliminate the concept of waste” …  YFYJupiter helped design and implement packaging specifications for vendor compliance that reduced costs, climate change and optimized supply chain across 40+ distribution centers. Our technical team reviewed the whole value chain in order to achieve improvements and cost savings. The number of carton sizes was decreased from over 1000 box configurations to 3 which resulted in an optimized packaging fit for more office supply products. 

Extended Producer Responsibility Workshops.

We recently hosted a crucial clinic on Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) legislation for one of the largest Arts and Crafts brands in the US, providing essential insights into compliance and fee avoidance strategies. This session was vital for understanding the complex requirements of EPR and its impact of packaging design.

By engaging directly with industry experts and gaining a comprehensive understanding of EPR obligations, our client is now better equipped to navigate compliance challenges, reduce potential fees, and implement effective, sustainable packaging solutions. This proactive approach ensures they remain ahead of regulatory changes and continue to lead in responsible business practices into 2025.

Distribution Center and Logistics Packaging Optimization.

A well known outdoor apparel and products company approached us to solve issues and inefficiencies that they witnessed internally with their warehouse operations.  Our solution provided them a new secondary packaging solution and improved pack-out procedure and a new master carton was created and implemented across their distribution centers. Immediate wins:

  • Net corrugated material savings (20%).
  • Reduced handling by the distribution centers receiving teams (15%).
  • Reduced time and effort to stage product (50%).
  • Reduced product damages (5%).
  • Standardized carton material dimensions for sourcing teams (100%).
  • Simplified container loading for vendors (100%).

Excellence in Sustainable Design and Packaging.

An outdoor gear brand that we partnered with aimed to launch its new camp kitchen program in 2024 with a focus on sustainability. The challenge was to develop entirely new paper-based packaging that would align with their brand values. We conducted thorough testing to ensure that the packaging met performance standards and effectively protected the products during shipping and handling.

Outcome: The new paper-based packaging was successfully launched, receiving positive feedback from both customers and industry experts. The transition to paper-based packaging not only reinforced SeaToSummit’s commitment to sustainability but also enhanced the brand’s reputation for innovation and environmental responsibility.

YFY Jupiter has helped one of our longest packaging partners achieve its aspiration in high end electronics packaging for over two decades. Our packaging teams are dedicated to make their 2030 packaging goals possible and successful, Goals: for every product their customer buys, they will reuse or recycle an equivalent product. 100% of their packaging will be made from recycled or renewable material and more than half of their product content will be made from recycled or renewable material.
